Hello Mr. RadioFebruary 19, 2010
Lady Gaga. That's someone who has as many haters as she has fans. What am I? Definitely a fan.

"You can literally choose to have fame. [...] If anyone said, who was Lady Gaga? I would be okay with, 'She is the most impressive con artist of fame'. I mean, I literally trick people every day into believing that I'm somebody, and I'm not."

When her first single came out, I refused to like it, solely because the lyrics insinuated that going out dancing and drinking would make everything better. That doesn't exactly coincide with my philosophy of a good long phone call to your best friend or mother to cheer you up.

However, I've opened up to the talented Lady Gaga, and found that not all her songs are that superficial. The meaning to her songs are usually disguised by catchy pop beats and her ultra-unconventional image.

So what if she goes out of her way --waaay out of her way-- to make people notice her? She's got killer vocals and demanding stage presence. Isn't that what is expected from a "star"?

"I've always been an artist, but when I started to be just who I really am, which is a provocative exhibitionist, somebody that does something for attention pretty shamelessly, that's when I was like okay, just be who you are. That's your artistry."

This post's title is a line from Lady Gaga's Filthy Pop. If you haven't heard it yet, do yourself a favor and listen to it now :)
